About

Andy Xianyi Zhang is a London-based filmmaker and moving image artist, and a recipient of The FLAMIN Fellowship (2024–2025). Originally from Shanghai, she works at the intersection of experimental film and artist moving image, exploring themes of urbanization, alienation, and self-discovery. Her practice employs a restrained yet defiant visual language, examining the relationship between human presence and space through slow cinema aesthetics and non-linear narratives.

With an MA in Film from the University of the Arts London, Zhang’s work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the Beijing International Short Film Festival, Ugly Duck Gallery, and Punch Gallery, and has been published in Artist Talk Magazine and The New Avant-Garde Art Zine.
